It’s been a busy month for British Mummy bloggers, and we’re starting to see some real growth in many of the blogs listed in this month's Top 100 Parent Blogs index.
The first point to make is you'll see some BIG moves in the index this month - that's because I've started using some new metrics which score the parent blogs on things like the number of comments attracted, social bookmarking (with Digg etc) and Twitter usage. Some blogs have taken big leaps up (or down) the tables as a result.
Personally, I think this index is probably the best yet in terms of how well it reflects the way that many parents blog - using a combination of sites, platforms and services - but let me know what you think!
Congratulations to everyone listed, and I hope you enjoy discovering some new blogs by exploring the index. If you’ve got any questions about how the index works, please just click on the FAQ page to the right to find out.
Oh - and don't forget to get your blog badges by clicking on the link here.
If you’re not listed this month and you haven’t yet submitted your blog to Who’s the Mummy, please leave a comment and I’ll add you to the mix next time.
Right, let’s dive in!
The Top100 British Parent Blogs and Bloggers:
JUST MISSED OUT THIS MONTH: Soapbox Mummy, Positive Parenting = Confident Kids, Half Mum Half Biscuit, Baby Signing Store and It's a Mum's life were all within 5 points of the top 100. So close!

Woo hoo, 92! Thanks :-)
Posted by: SandyCalico | 19 July 2009 at 08:14 AM
Well done to everyone, I recognise loads of names up there. Yay, I made the list at 82! I'm really chuffed and thanks for all the explanation as to how we are ranked, it's really interesting. Could I be really pinickity and ask to be listed as Caution: Woman at Work(screen and blog name) rather than ravingmarysragepage(blogspot address). Sorry to be a pain, many thanks.

Yee Ha 39 and Counting is still in! Many thanks! Could you include my new blog next time to see how it does? Forty Not Out. Many thanks!
Posted by: thatgirl39 | 19 July 2009 at 09:56 AM
@womanatwork - consider it done!
@thatgirl39 - I've added it to the list for next time. Which will be September, I think - I'm taking August off!
Posted by: Sally | 19 July 2009 at 10:41 AM
Phew! Thought I'd dropped off, but have moved up instead. (Nope, not at all obsessed about being on this list.) Thanks for your efforts in putting this together. Must be quite a slog.

So very honoured. Well done to everyone on this list. There are many blogs out there of which are outstanding, 100 of them listed here.

Oh my, there are quite a few on here that I follow but more that I don't. Still it will pass the time while I wait for the baby to arrive.
Is leaving a comment here enough to be considered for inclusion next time or is there something else I should do?
Posted by: Dancinfairy | 19 July 2009 at 11:27 AM
Hiya. Just discovered you thanks to Sandy Calico (straight in this week at No 92)! Would love to be included with my blog http://mumstheboss.wordpress.com/
Looking forward to discovering lots of new mummy bloggers :-)

Thanks for compiling this list, I can't even imagine how long it must take. Some really great blogs in there too. Random question from me, the ever so not at all technical one, what is the difference between the blogs that are underlined and those that aren't?
See, I ask all the techie questions me!

Carol - that's fine, you're forgiven. Although don't let that stop you from sending chocolates, obviously :-)
@Elsie and everyone else who's said thanks - you are really welcome, it's a labour of love, really, as I enjoy reading all the blogs I look at, so it's not a chore at all!

Down 14 points? How disappointing.
Posted by: Rosie Scribble | 20 July 2009 at 06:28 PM
Rosie,
Oh dear, I don't want to depress anyone!
As I said, the new metrics DO mean some big shifts up and down - but having looked at your stats from this index compared to last, you haven't fallen a lot in terms of numbers - it was all in the links, I think. Also some bloggers are frighteningly prolific on Twitter, it seems...
Posted by: Sally | 20 July 2009 at 06:39 PM
thank you so much!! so excited to be new in at 20, I really appreciate it. Have no idea what the numbers mean or anything but who cares, am in! e-mail address will change in the next week so shall I just nip back to the comments and put it in?? thanks again

So many of the blogs I read are on your list and wonderful to find some new suggestions. I may run out of time to read them all!
Since I have just blogged about becoming invisible I may not be what you are looking for but do have large numbers of children!
