I've gone down, never mind! :)

Would love to be considered next time.

Ta much!

Bounce bounce bounce I'm within 10 points of the top 100 ... maybe next month !

Off now to read lots of lovely new blogs !

You have two 'Tales from Nappy Valley' in there. And I'm not there. Might have fallen off, of course, but could you double-check, just in case? Thanks, Sally.

Oh bugger. Now there was me deciding not to be included in this cause it would just stress me out and you've gone and thrown me in anyway (which was lovely of you) - and now I'm all like "damn! I didn't make it!" and moping...

Oh well. The new site has only been live a fortnight! So maybe that's why.

Thanks anyway lovely

And a big well done to everyone on the list!
x

(mope... mope... mope...come visit and cheer me up...)

Please consider me for next time

Well done to everyone - working hard on the http://www.tishtashtoys.com blog so hope to make it on there one day soon!

Well done Sally - I can't imagine how much work this must be for you. And congrats on being such a high climber!

some new blogs to try, thank you.

and in the interests of promoting all things positive about home education (ok, some of the negative stuff as well) please add http://gritsday.blogspot.com to the mix next time!

if you do a chart of the first 5,000 this home ed blog might just storm through.

Oooooh a new entry for me, and a prize! Yay! Thank you xx

Hi Sally,

You really are a star to do this.

Hopefully we'll get there next time!

Liz (LivingwithKids)

thanks for including http://liveotherwise.co.uk/makingitup - found out via my stats as have had a couple of visitors trickle through :) Just wondering, how do you work out which twitter accounts are linked to which blog?

Well done to everyone. hope i manage to make the list one day

Oh I am so delighted to have made it onto the list. Many congrats to everyone and all the great new entries. New shoes - here I come!!

Wow, I've made it on, thanks.

Thanks for putting this together Sally, it must take ages. And I've gone up - amazing. I thought I'd had a quiet month blog-wise!

Hi Sally - Bit disappointed that you used the old blog address again after I brought to your attention last month that it was the wrong one. Still, good that a blog that hasn't been touched in 3 months is in the top 50!

For October can you use www.arewenearlythereyetmummy.com address please.

Congrats everyone. Down 5 for me though. Ahh well, where's the chocolate. :D

@Laura - I can adjust the score to reflect the new address only, but it does mean you move down the table, so I thought you'd prefer my combo-approach!

Just to explain to anyone who might be considering moving their blog:

My view is that when you move to a new blog address, you’re not starting from scratch as a completely new blogger – you’re still benefiting from some of those old links to your pre-existing site.

So when I do the monthly analysis, I look at both addresses and if I think you’d lose out by not including the old address, I generally include both addresses.

For AWNTYM, your new site has more inbound links than the old site, but your old site has significantly more Google hits overall, a higher Technorati Authority and lots more Technorati Reactions. It seemed counter-intuitive to me to discount all those links to your content because it's now hosted at a new address - so we use the old address for those metrics, until the new address catches up.

For scores like recent Google hits, Postrank scores for this month's content, current subscribers and Twitter Grader, we will only use current data - because these metrics reflect current usage of your blog.

I'd expect at some point for your new address to catch up with the old one, at which point we'd stop taking it into account - but I do feel that old blog addresses should be taken into account when looking at the data, and it's not fair to penalise someone when they've moved to a new address.

I hope that makes sense. Like most things, it's imperfect, but I'm not sure of a better way of doing it - interested in ideas, though!

Always manages to confuse me how you work this all out, but any chance of being considered next month??? xx

Thanks for doing this - and yay to the meteoric rise. Either my hard work from previous months is paying off, or what you needto do to rise up the ranks is neglect your blog to play with the kids and launch a book or two!

Please consider me next time :)

Thanks for doing this, it's such a great and useful list. Nearly cracked the top 10. Next time... ;-)

Hi Sally,
I think that I am not the only person out here in blogland that would be interested to know in a point by point list how you create your Top 100. It would be helpful if the information was listed along side the list.
Thanks,
sian.

@YummyMummy - will definitely add you next month!

@Antonia - well done, your engagement figures this month were off the scale!

@Carly - added!

@Noble Savage - thanks!

@Sian - there's an FAQ in the right-hand column that shows exactly how it's calculated, but if you have any more specific questions, do let me know!

Hi there. Every time the list is produced I ask to be included. Could you let me know if I am being considered, and if so am I anywhere close to making it?

My blog www.janmary.com
my original address www.welcometomyworldjanmary.blogspot.com

Thanks so much :)

Great list, there are so many good blogs out there that if I didn't have any discipline I would just spend all my time reading instead of writing. I would love to make it to the list, please consider my blog. Cheers.

Heck, another day lost reading all the new entries! Here's hoping to make it in one day - this new kid on the bloggy block would love to be considered. Come and say hi! love a&u

Would love to make the top 100 one day:

I made it! Fab! Thanks for including me, I shall grab my badge and wear it with honour.

Must have taken you ages to do - well done.

hi there. I am baffled how you measure this, and I dont think I am on any indexes or anything to give me good numbers, but you might like to take a look at my blog bigbelugababy.blogspot.com anyway.
It is nice to have some new addresses to look at!

Boo, hoo, we've slipped off the bottom this month. (Must try harder, must try harder...)

Hello - I'd love to be considered for your blog list. Even if I come bottom!!!

It's very useful and has given me many hours of reading time which I've thoroughly enjoyed.

Great stuff :)

Hi, thanks for doing this. Don't think I'm anywhere near all these lovely bloggers, but could you add me in anyway? Many thanks.

How you do it is beyond me - you are quite amazing! I can't beleive I made it - I am SO chuffed!

Thank you again for all the hardwork you do with this. One day I will read all the blogs!! and yay I've gone up 2 places very happy bunny x

Congrats everyone! Glad to see my favourites are still (mostly!) up there!

Hi Sally!!

www.andreadaly.com

I don't have a clue how this works, but am thrilled to be up there with the best of them!

Next month aiming to go up instead of down... ;-)

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone - keep 'em coming!

boo hoo, have slipped masses. reeling in shock and a tiny bit disturbed.
could not posting all month have something to do with it?
have rectified that now!
thanks for your hard work

Hi Sally, thanks for doing this list - it must be a real headache!

@Milla - almost certainly, I've had a quick look and your two lowest scores were for interactivity over the previous 30 days, and search rankings over the previous 30 days.

@Elsie - it looks more impressive than it is, honest.

Hi Sally,
Well done everyone who made the top 100. BMB is my new obsession and I'd love to be considered next time. Darn that competitive streak! Karen at The Real Mamma Diaries (www.karenpasqualijones.blogspot.com)
