Welcome to the October Tots100 index of the UK's top 100 parent blogs and bloggers! The British Mummy (and Daddy) blogging scene is getting exciting - we've got a brand new number one blog this month and no fewer than 17 new entries to the index - so lots of new reading for everyone!
I spent quite a lot of time putting together the blog index this month - with so many new entries, there was quite a bit of work. To avoid that happening next month, here's my stern moment: while I love people suggesting new blogs for us to include, please don't nominate your blog each month - if you've nominated it once, I promise it's in there. If you nominate it again, it ends up being scored twice, and it messes up my calculations. This tends to make me cranky.
A second issue that came up this month: we now have a couple of bloggers who write more than one blog. What we've found is that these blogs are sometimes linking to each other repeatedly - and since the index scores partly based on links, it's elevating the scores of both blogs. From next month, I am going to impose a limit - so that if Blog A and Blog B are written by the same person, you can only score for ONE link between those two blogs each month. I think this will make the index fairer for those bloggers who only write one blog. But feedback, as ever, is welcome.
