I’m an enormously creative person. I have a GCSE in Art, you know.
Yes, strictly speaking I scraped through with an ‘F’ grade, but that’s because the teachers didn’t just understand what my work was trying to say.
That’s why I was so thrilled when MEGA Bloks asked if I’d like to run a competition to find the UK’s most creative constructor. Then they told me I couldn’t win, which was a bit of a blow, frankly.
Still, if you fancy winning one of two top prizes of £150 worth of MEGA bloks toys, or a runner’s up prize of £50 of toys, then here’s what you need to know:
MEGA Bloks are celebrating their 25th birthday by inviting the blogging community to get their bloks out and start building!
Over the next two weeks, we’d like you to build something amazing with MEGA Bloks. Post a photo or video of your work on your blog or Twitter, add a link to your entry below, and the two best builders will each win £150 of MEGA Bloks products! Two runners up will also win £50 of products (Winners will receive toys relevant to their child’s age group).
We’re looking for really creative submissions, so it’s time to get the kids’ imaginations flowing. Whether it’s the tallest tower, a scary monster or a scale model of the Millennium Falcon, we’re looking for originality and creativity, as well as evidence that you’ve had some fun with your little ones.
To see what you could win, check out www.megabloks.com and view all the MEGA Bloks range of Preschool toys and if you thought Megabloks was just for pre-schoolers, take a look at their range of products for older children, including brands like Dragons Universe, Halo & Battle Strikers.
What are you waiting for? Get building!
Rules:
- Winners will be chosen by the competition organisers on September 27th at 5pm and will be announced on the blog and on Twitter at http://twitter.com/swhittle

What a fab competition! Thanks for running it Sally, now to get creative!
What a great competition. I’m so glad I’ve got a week off to get building with the boys 🙂
ooooooo… am gionna have to get my hand into some begablocks then! we only have LOGOs at home!!! 🙁
oj wait… we have a couple of HALO megablocks to… ummmm…
🙂
Fab competition Sally, but Megablocks made me really angry with their Halo range. I’m guessing you’re maybe not aware that Halo is a 16+ rated Xbox game which is incredibly violent, and really has no place in a Megablocks child’s range…
The pressure from my sons to play it increased tenfold when they saw the megablocks toys “But Mummy, LOOK! See? We TOLD you it was okay”
Hi Laura
Thanks for commenting. I’m not a massive X-Box player, I confess, but I know Halo is geared much more for teens. To Flea, having not played the game, it would just be a cool car, I suspect. Certainly, the winner of this comp can choose whichever toys they would like for their child, and opt out of anything they don’t feel is appropriate.
I’m sure Megabloks are reading and appreciate the feedback, I’ll certainly pass it on to them and ask them to respond.
What a fabulous competiton 😉 @Kahanka

Fab competition. Haven’t got round to blogging yet but Grace created this http://twitpic.com/2sumud (it is a town with a car on a road at the front – in case you were wondering) and Faith (with a little help from me) created this http://twitpic.com/2suo3i (and yes, I did glue googly eyes onto the mega bloks!)
I entered on twitter here: http://twitter.com/BumblingTweets/status/25821531949 (Moo’s attempt) and here:http://twitter.com/BumblingTweets/status/25822168143 (my attempt).
Here’s our attempt – http://www.methemanandthebaby.com/2010/09/mega-bloks.html 🙂
Better late than never. Personally I was rather impressed with Li’l Mister’s entry.
