Hide and Seek: the Flea version.

Today, because my life isn't surreal enough already, Flea decided we should play Hide and Seek.

I realised this was what we were doing when I heard muffled giggles and then a voice shouting: “Guess where I am, Mummy?”

I played along, looking under the dining table, in the kitchen, behind the curtains before eventually finding Flea under the stairs. She decided this was a brilliant game.

“Can we play again?”

“Sure,” I said. “I’ll count to 20, you hide.”

“Can I hide under the stairs?”

“Well, I think it’s supposed to be a surprise, so hide somewhere and don’t tell me.”

Flea thought about this for a moment. “Okay.”

I covered my eyes and started to count, then felt a small hand resting on my arm, Flea’s signal that she wants to talk to me. “Yes?”

“You have to forget I am under the stairs.”

One minute later, imagine my surprise when I looked under the stairs to find…

Flea
I think my very favourite thing about this photo is her absolute amazement that I actually managed to work out where she was.

By now, Flea was having a great time. “Can we play again?”

“Sure.”

“Okay, I’m going to be hiding in a place where you'll NEVER find me.”

I closed my eyes. Then a little voice whispered in my ear. “It’s a different place this time, but don’t look under the stairs, okay?”
