Win £50 to Spend at Joe Browns

joe browns giveaway

Top of my list of “ways to waste a perfectly good weekend” has to be shopping on the High Street.

Probably I’m just old, but the thrill of schlepping into town, parking up, squeezing into too small changing cubicles with curtains that never, ever close fully (seriously, what is that about?) and despairing of finding anything in the size you need.

Seriously, retailers, if you’re constantly out of stock of jeans for short people, why not – crazy idea – just stock more jeans for short people?

And while we’re at it, turn a light on, Hollister. We’re not on emergency electricity rations.

These days, most of my clothes shopping happens online. I know what size to buy in my favourite stores, and it’s so much easier to have things sent to straight to the house, so I can try them on in comfort, and test them with various clothes I already own.

One of my go-to retailers is Joe Browns, especially for tunic tops that sit in that sweet spot of being dressy enough to wear at a work meeting without being so smart I stand out as being a bit too suited-and-booted. And it’s all really affordable.

I didn’t realise until recently that the site also offers a range of jewellery, including this cute owl pendant, which I was sent as a gift – and it was promptly claimed by a certain small person in our family. It’s nice and solid, and at just under £30, won’t break the bank.
