If you were to ask Flea what she loves most in life, she’d probably tell you it’s a tie between pizza and books.
Like good pizza, reading should be a guilt-free activity for kids. In our house we only have one rule when it comes to reading – read what you enjoy, for as long as you enjoy it.
So yes, Flea has worked her way through the classics of children’s literature. But the books she reads OVER and OVER are the ones that make her laugh.
One of Flea’s favourite recent series is Timmy Failure. These books tell the story of a boy who runs a detective agency with his sidekick – who happens to be a polar bear. Without any real mysteries to solve, the not-so-dynamic duo get into all sorts of off-the-wall adventures.
What makes the story are the cartoon illustrations from Stephan Pastis. They’re smart and silly, without talking down to the audience.
The fifth Timmy Failure book has just been published, and I have ONE signed copy to give away to one Who’s the Mummy reader, courtesy of ASK Italian.
Walker Books and Timmy Failure have teamed up with ASK Italian, the award-winning family friendly restaurant chain, to celebrate the publication of The Book You’re Not Supposed to Have, the latest adventure in the Timmy Failure series.
Detective duo Timmy Failure and his polar bear business partner Total can be found in 60,000 limited edition activity booklets in ASK Italian restaurants across the country this autumn.
There are also 10,000 bookmarks available in book stores across the country, which when presented at participating ASK Italian restaurants will enable kids to eat for FREE!
