August Tots100 Index of British Mummy and Daddy Blogs

Welcome to the August 2010 Tots100 index of the top 100 British Parent bloggers.

Totslogo

It might be the school holidays but the UK's Mummy and Daddy bloggers have been keeping busy – we've got 12  new entries to the index this month and a new number 1 British Parenting blog – congrats to the utterly fabulous Josie at Sleep is for the Weak.

One of the things that's great to see is the number of new blogs joining the index each month. Do take the time to explore blogs you haven't seen before – we've got parenting blogs covering everything from fashion to feminism, crafts, cooking and gardening.

New to the index?

If you write a parenting blog and you’re in the UK or a British ex-pat, you can add your blog to the Tots100 index. Just leave a comment on THIS post with your blog name, URL, and your Twitter ID if you have one. You will then be listed in next month’s index.

Before signing up, take a moment to read our primer, which explains what blogs are eligible for the index, and how your score will be calculated. We're always happy to answer questions via email or in the comments. You can also opt out of the index for any month, just by dropping us a line and asking to be removed from the table. Please remember that the Tots100 will not reverse the ageing process or make you rich – it's just a fun way to reach new readers, and to find new blogs to read.

Want a badge?

If you have submitted your blog to the Tots100 index, you can download a personalised badge for your blog, which will update automatically each month with your new Tots100 ranking. These badges are available for ALL bloggers in the index, not just those in the top 100. If  you're the modest type and would prefer, you can also download a static badge, which lets your readers know you're in the Tots100 without announcing your ranking.

And now for this month's scores!

Rank Blog Score Change
1 Sleep is for the Weak 3925 + 4
2 Sticky Fingers 3917 – 1
3 A Modern Mother 3915 – 1
4 Are We Nearly There Yet, Mummy 3910 – 1
5 Baby Baby 3906 + 1
6 Single Parent Dad 3881 – 2
7 Rosie Scribble 3833 + 4
8 Noble Savage 3808 + 8
9 Diary of a desperate Exmoor Woman 3802 =
10 Little Mummy 3794 – 2

    Hi Sally,
Tried downloading my badge but it does not show ranking when I publish. I am really interested to know where I rank LOL! Also I know I am new to this but have had quiet a bit of activity this month and so was wondering if you could advise how I can improve my score. I’m a bit lost.
    Many thanks

    Hello from America!
    Not that I don’t appreciate being #8
I just wanted to be sure that you knew I have no idea how my blog Pacing the Panic Room ended up on this list, I did not submit it, I am not an ex-pat. I am just an idiot with a blog in America 🙂 So in all fairness you should remove my blog from your list of British Mummy and Daddy bloggers, since I am neither British or a Daddy Blogger. Not that there is anything wrong with that 🙂

    Hi Sally,
I’m surprised not be in the index again – for the 3rd month since I changed my domain name, but thought I would have reappeared somewhere by now! My stats seem to be better than ever, and I have more readers than before so not sure where it’s going wrong. Any suggestions?

Hello Sally! My monthly thanks message! You really are amazing! (although sad you’re still the top blogger! I though overlord had a real ring…)
One thing – my badge hasn’t updated. No prob as I’ve dropped this month so I’m quite happy to keep claiming to be higher than I am! But I probably ought to own up to it at some point! Should I put the code in again?

Thanks Harriet – I’ve emailed the tech guys to see if there’s a reason but it should have updaated by now?

If you click on the ‘download a badge’ link in the post above, you’ll see a box with the badge and a drop-down menu. Your blog should be in that drop-down menu. Select your blog, then copy/paste the code into your own blog (as a widget in blogger or wordpress, as a typelist in Typepad)
Let me know if you have any problems.

    Hi Sally,
    I’ve moved to:
    http://www.wahm-bam.org
    (from http://wahm-bam.blogspot.com)
There’s a redirect from the old blogspot address, so people should be landing at the new one for any links they click. No idea how this works for Tots100 stats, but take the information and do with it what you need to. (I have a strong feeling it will mean I disappear from the Tots100, but hopefully I get back up eventually!)
